Crows are found in most parts of the world—except southern [[South America]].[^1]
They are smaller than [[Ravens|ravens]], and (generally) not as thick-billed.[^2] They have a wingspan of approx. 50 cm.[^3]
Crows are omnivores. They mostly eat upon the ground, where they “walk purposefully”.[^4]
> Crows live in large, close-knit families, and, like social mammals, they not only hunt and forage together but also defend territories and care for the young together.^1

Crows in Australia have white irises.[^5]
