# mass editing files in Obsidian
1. Close Obsidian.
2. Open Notepad++ \[or equivalent program]
3. Navigate to Notepad++’s **Search** > **Replace…** > **Find in Files**.
4. Point the directory to the folder you want to make your edits in.
5. Fill in your find *what/replace with*.
6. **Replace in Files**.
7. Done!
8. Re-open Obsidian. It will probably re-index everything, but you’re good :D
